Flying, Amtrak, And Other Transportation
If you are planning to fly to Hilton Head Island, you can either fly straight to the Island or you can fly to the Savannah -Hilton Head Airport. It is exactly 1 hour driving time from Savannah-Hilton Head Airport to the center of the Island. You would follow the driving directions listed above as you will be on I-95 heading North when you leave the Savannah-Hilton Head Airport. You can get a rental car, taxi, or limo at the Airport.
If you take a commercial flight to the Hilton Head Island Airport, you can connect at Charlotte with USAIR Express, ( numerous flights daily ). There is currently no other Airline service to the Island. You can get a rental car, taxi, or limo at the Airport.
If you have a private aircraft, there are parking and tie-down facilities at the airport.
If you have a boat, you can get to Hilton Head Island either from the Ocean or the Inter-Coastal Waterway. We have numerous Marina's for your boating convenience.
There is Amtrak and commercial Bus service serving Savannah.
Another approach is to arrive at Charleston, SC. Charleston is 112 miles away and it is a 2 plus hour drive down Route 17 South & I-95 to the Island.
